Happy New Year, shinobi! After taking a holiday break to, among other things, get married (woo hoo!), the Squirrel Squad is back to report on the wacky hijinks of the Will of Fire Dojo. Everyone was very excited to get back to training at the start of the new year. Sensei Gonzalez announced our theme for the year: Last Line of Defense. If you knew you could be the last line of defense, after all other resources fail, how would you train? Discuss.
So what have we been up to? Drills, drills, drills. Repetition is key to not only master a technique but to make it part of our natural movement. If you are the last line of defense, what is the outcome if you freeze, trying to figure out what to do? Probably nothing good. How do you train?
We're off to a great start. Everyone is digging deep into their kyu material, as well as mastering those crucial basics. How does a house stand with no foundation? Exactly. So stay tuned right here for weekly updates, observations, and a maybe a little inspiration.
