If you're a regular reader of the Squad, you know that we've really been drilling the basics this year, ingraining those techniques and making them part of our natural movement. Everyone is also working on their individual kyu material, prepping for the testing to come at the end of March. Want some specifics? Along with tightening up our ukemi and lots of jodan uke drills, we're looking at ura and omote oni kudaki, and muso dori. The last portion of class is saved to work on self-defense drills (remember: last line of defense). There's been a LOT of sweat and some tired-ass ninjas dragging themselves out of class. Oh, and heads up! Sensei has been muttering about no one requesting their throws. This squirrel suggests bringing it up before HE does, capiche?
We have a handful of seminars coming up that everyone needs to know about. The first is March 19-20 with Mundo Ruiz Tapia Shihan in Corpus Christi. Next up is June 25-26 with Luke Molitor Shihan, right here in our fair city and hosted by the Will of Fire Dojo. Lastly, we have Dean Rostohar Shihan in Temple on October 8-9. Please see our EVENTS tab right here on this site for all the details. Be there or be a plane figure with four equal straight sides and four right angles.
